Hitting out of a Divot…

You hit a GREAT shot down the middle of the fairway…

Success!

Until you see that your ball is right in the middle of a divot.

So what do you do to keep your run going and your scores low?

Open golf tournaments, such as the U.S. Open, are held to try and give amateurs the chance to break into the field of professional golf. Golfers participate in a series of smaller tournaments to qualify for the Open where they proceed to the big tournament where they compete against professionals. The last amateur to win a U.S. Open was back in 1933.;*

Can you please give us advice on hitting a sand trap shot when the sand is hard packed? As you know most public courses don’t spend the money to replace the sand each year. Also, the public course traps are not raked regularly to keep them soft.
    Thanks,
    Burt

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Burt,
No problem Burt. When the sand is hard don’t open the club up as much. Also place your weight a bit left and hinge your wrist quickly in the backswing. Now drive the club down into the sand and expect the ball to come out quickly. The biggest tip is to grip tighter with the last three fingers of your left hand. this will help keep the club from bouncing off the sand. Let me know if this helps.

    CJ,
I live in the Chicago Area and the winter is so frustrating, not being able to play golf. So like most northerners we get stuck hitting a golf ball in some rubber dome or watching allot of golf on TV and get even more frustrated. I took this winter to do some serious golf training. I went to the local Golf Galaxy and took some lessons that really helped. Then I bought your Perfect Connection video training.
Initially I liked what I viewed on the Signature Series and then made a commitment to practice in my living room. Since we live in an old place with 12ft ceilings, I was able to take a full swing without hitting a chandelier or something. The only problem were the divots in the carpeting. I attached my laptop up to the big flat screen and started practicing everyday about 2 months ago. Everyday I would do two or three lessons. It felt great but honestly didn’t know if it would translate to the course.
Well today it was 48 degrees and sunny. For you southerners, you would never even walk out of the house.
I went to a course that was just barely open and played 18 with a buddy.
    I only have one reaction….WOW!!!!
I shot par on 11 of the 18 holes and had one birdie. Amazing. My average score last year was 82-86.
My swing today felt effortless. Easy on my back. I even hit a drive about 280 yards.
Yes, this sounds like a paid commercial. I promise you this is the real deal.
My drives were mostly straight and long. I had NO slices. I did have a few drives that had a little too much draw, but still in play.
My short shots were the best for this early in the season. I used my 60 degree with complete confidence. Last year it was the club that I feared the most.
I am so excited about the upcoming season.
Well, tomorrow in Chicago is only supposed to be a high of 39. Now for me that’s too cold. The clubs will stay in the trunk of my car. Hopefully I’ll get out next week when we have a Chicago pre-spring heatwave of 50.
Thank CJ. I guess being forced inside in front of my flat screen was a good use of my winter blues.
Now for an awesome Spring, Summer and Fall of great golf, a few beers and even more fun with my buddies.

    Burt

Sorry to hear the news about your wife. We were devastated with similar news five years ago, but post surgery things looked rosy. Now, 5 years later, we just found out there’s another lump. On the bright side, I have a friend who had a radical 15 years ago and is doing great. You have to believe that things will be okay. I kiss my wife’s ‘girls’ good bye every night cuz you never know, but they would be a small price to pay to keep my wife alive.

    • Scott says:

Yes, prayer is the answer, but may I encourage you both to read…
Luke 17:11 thru 19 , and act accordingly.

your wife and youraelf are in our prayers and thoughts. Being cancer survivor for four years prayers workand positive thoughts are helpful

    • Burt says:

      CJ,

I am so sorry for for the diagnosis that your wife has with breast cancer.
My wife, this time last year had the same terrible word from the doctor. We sought out a number of options and knew that she needed to have surgery within 2 months or so.
In the meanwhile my faithful wife has been part of a prayer group that she has attended over the last few years. Yes, the impossible and supernatural actually happened. One of the women in her group felt very strongly that my wife was healed. Well we didn’t take that face value without getting medical confirmation. So my wife had another ultrasound two days before the scheduled surgery. The lump was still there. OK, nice try. Let’s do surgery.
My wife went under the knife, had two lumps removed. One the size of a walnut.
A week later the oncologist and the surgical gynecologist called us in to the office for a post-op visit. They were completely dumbfounded and confused because what they removed had absolutely not evidence of any cancer cells. No there was No mistake. The before oncology report clearly had the bad news. The post-op reported NO cancer cells anywhere, even in the margins.
Well, with all that said, I can only say that my wife had a REAL MIRACLE take place.
We always believed in prayer and the possibility of healing but we all know it usually leads us to false hopes and disappointment.
So you want to know my prayer for your wife is this? Are you ready?
In the name of Jesus Christ and the power of His blood, I claim complete healing for the wife of CJ!!! Breast Cancer Be Gone in the name of Jesus! It is by His Stripes that Your Wife is Healed!
He is still in the business of answering prayers and He still Heals today. My wife is LIVING proof of that!!! Thank You Lord.

So get the prayers. Believe by faith. But still get the medical prognosis and verification. Sometimes God can use a good doctor and the technology to do the healing as well.
Feel free to contact me if you have further questions or you would like your wife to talk to mine.
      Blessings.

Hi C.J. – sorry to hear about your wife. For what it is worth, my wife was diagnosed with cancer (a kind of Ovarian cancer) back in December and is now undergoing chemotherapy. Modern treatments can knock this down and give most patients a full recovery. Our outlook is good and I am sure that you and your wife will get through this fine.

    • CJ Goecks says:

      David Pack,
Thank you for your support David. I am sorry to hear about your wife, but am glad that she is doing well. Please keep me informed on her recovery and let me know if I can do anything to help you.

  15. Denis says:

    Hi CJ

I sincerely hope everything is ok with your wife and the prognosis is good.

I recently purchased your programme and I went on the driving range and followed the lesson with particular concentration on keeping conected. It was like a light switching on and the connection to the ball was so much better with better results. I shot a net 75 in my monthly medal, which doesn’t sound earth shattering, but believe me I have been shooting at least 5 shots worse than that in previous medals. Thank you so much for this simple program.

    Kind regards

    Denis

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Denis,
