Nathan Green
As Director of Instruction at TPC Craig Ranch in Dallas, Texas, CJ has worked with golfers of all levels – from PGA and LPGA players like Nathan Green, Jaxon Brigman, Brittany Lang, Paul Stankowski, Taylor Leon, and Brenden Pappas…

…to serious amateurs ranging in age from their teens to 80+ years young.

Why do so many people come to CJ for help … and why do his students absolutely rave about him and his methods?

It’s because he gets the results they’re looking for!

And what he’s done for THEIR swings, he can now do for YOU.

…because in an effort to reach out and help even more of those amateur golfers who could benefit most from his teachings, CJ introduces you to…

Even Arnold Palmer’s former caddie, Professional Caddie Association Hall of Fame inductee, and long-time professional golf instructor, Scott Houston is excited about the PerfectConnection Golf Swing:

“I’m simply amazed at the results. Because of a bad back, I watched your training videos, and today I hit a bucket for the first time in three months. Every driver hit was either a draw or went straight, but what impressed me the most was the simplicity of turning and releasing the club (with the body – no arms and hands). I stayed connected thru-out, and your athletic set-up made ‘timing’ easier. So, I’m on board as an avid endorser and I’m glad I found you. Best wishes, and keep up the good work.”

~ Scott Houston

Now let’s hear what CJ himself has to say about this popular training program that’s already been snapped up by more than 10,000 golfers worldwide:

Hi, I’m CJ Goecks…

And I’d like to tell you a little of the story behind this new swing, so you can clearly see what sets it apart from the rest…

…and why most of my students go so quickly from struggling, frustrated, often ready to hang up their clubs … to becoming confident, consistent, excited ball-strikers.

“Results so far have been impressive! I was ready to hang it up but your program is so simple and easy to use, I am once again excited about playing. Thanks CJ.”

~ D. Miller

You see, I’m a certified Golf Biomechanist, trained by kinesiologist Paul Chek of the internationally famous CHEK Institute, and specializing in golf-specific conditioning and injury prevention.

So I understand every angle of what’s happening to your body, all through the swing … as well as the body’s strengths and weaknesses, and how it’s really MEANT to move – naturally!

I’ve spent time working with David Leadbetter, coaching at his Junior Academy in Bradenton, Florida … as well as being Master Instructor for Jim McLean.

I worked with some of the best
and studied while I taught…

I spent time working with David Leadbetter, coaching at his Junior Academy in Bradenton, Florida … as well as being Master Instructor for Jim McLean.

My experience even runs internationally, having served as Instructor with the Northern Golf Federation in Mexico, and as a coach for the Uruguayan Golf Federation. This of course is all in addition to my professional and top amateur clients here in the USA.

CERT

And in my efforts to always be learning more about the golf swing, and how to make it better, I’ve consulted with PGA Tour doctor Troy van Heusen, and physical therapist Damon Goddard … as well as having studied a ton of amateur and pro golf swings, analyzing them from every angle using 3D motion capture technology by Motion Golf.

Yes, I’ve spent many years consulting, developing, analyzing … experimenting with numerous swing variations, looking for ranges of motion that felt more natural, and didn’t produce any of the irritation and discomfort in my clients.

Here’s where YOU come in…

Then, in 2009, this all came together in a way that might interest YOU, when my business partner approached me about the many comments he was hearing from other golfers on the blog at Performax Golf, and the special challenges they faced. So many of them were experiencing flexibility problems, inconsistencies in their performance, lack of distance, hooks and slices…

And of course that recurring problem of injuries, aches, and pains in their hips, back, neck, shoulders, and elbows.

It was obvious to me those injuries were the result of trying to use the typical “conventional” golf swing used by the pro’s – the ones who can afford to spend half their day training in the gym, and on the range.

What these weekend amateur golfers really needed though was a swing that would allow them to hit powerfully, consistently, and accurately … while still being body-friendly. (Let’s face it: most of us are not always in the greatest shape, and we have very little in common with the typical touring professional.)

It took only a few simple adjustments…

The swing I was already teaching my flexible young buck touring pros and top amateurs – including Nathan Green, who went on to capture the RBC Canadian Open – really wasn’t that far off what we needed for all these other golfers.

So I made some simple changes, and came up with a swing specifically tailored to the average weekend amateur golfer. Here’s what I did:

  • First, I shortened the swing to 3/4 width because it’s just as powerful, yet easier on the body, and easier to repeat.
  • Next came connecting the arms to the body, allowing the amateur to square the clubface using more of the body and larger muscles, resulting in greater distance and accuracy.
  • And finally, I made sure the shoulders, hips, and knees were perfectly aligned in what I call the Triple Stack posture to reduce the injuries and strain I see so many golfers struggling with.

It’s all about “Connection”

Here’s a quick question for you: What was the most significant change Tiger Woods made to his swing, back in ’98?

Answer: By his own admission, it was the elimination of “timing”, and the synchronization of his upper and lower body – what he calls “staying connected”.

The Perfect Connection Golf Swing connects the larger muscles to the smaller ones. The goal of this natural connection of arms, shoulders, torso, hips, and legs is keeping everything working in unison throughout, and fully synchronizing your upper and lower body into one smooth motion that is body-friendly, and easy to repeat again and again.

Yet it does so in a way that’s surprisingly quick and easy to get the hang of.

In fact, you may begin feeling the difference the very first time you use it. The Perfect Connection Golf Swing is packed with power, control, consistency, and “body-friendliness” … all in one easy-to-understand method!

“I bought your system last week and quickly added at least 10 yards, with more accuracy. Thanks!”

~ Jaihong Kwon

“Your Perfect Connection golf swing videos have changed my game from a novice to close to LPGA material. I am not kidding! A professional said to me that he has never seen so much ‘raw’ talent and I told him about Perfect Connection and he said, ‘Well, whatever you’re doing keep doing it because you are definitely going to be a par or under golfer in another year.’ Thank you, CJ”

~ Rev. Dr. Sharon Barley

“I’ve only been through the first 2 lessons, and I’m already starting to feel and see the difference!”

~ Marc Yanow

And if you’re part of that vast majority of golfers who suffer from intermittent to chronic golf- related pain in your back, neck, elbows, wrists, knees, hips, or hands…

Don’t go blaming it all on “age” or being “out of shape”. And don’t go buying into that commonly-held myth that a certain amount of pain is simply “part of the game” either.

More then likely it’s you poor body motions– which often actually causes tears and irritation in muscles, joints, and connective tissues! The good news is…

The PerfectConnection Golf Swing can dramatically reduce golf-related pain.

“I have spent many happy hours with your swing and presto – THE PAIN IS GONE.”

~ Darryl Thorne

“I injured my lower back 15 yrs ago and had thought my golf days were over. Since I bought your Perfect Connection golf lessons I am back to playing again. I have never hit the ball straighter than I am now. I hit 16 fairways, last 18 I played!”

~ Jerry McKee

“I started using this product last week, and played my first round with it Friday. I got up the next day and did not need to take any Tylenol or Advil. (That was a first, because I have a ruptured disc in my lower back) And I played really well, too. Thanks.”

~ Joe Rioux

Still, perhaps the greatest thing about this swing is the simplicity of it, and how quickly and easily a person can get the hang of it.

Don’t get me wrong…

This isn’t some magic wand you wave over your driver for instant 300-yard launches. It’s gonna take some effort and dedication on your part, to be sure. But if you practice my methods, you WILL improve. I guarantee it!

As golf great Lee Trevino says…

“You swing your best when you have the fewest things to think about”

See, too many golfers try “FORCING” themselves into one “standardized” swing style – a one-size-fits-all golf swing.

The reason they don’t improve is because they’re not using their own natural swing. And that leaves far too many things to try remembering … when you should be simply swinging as Nature intended.

THIS… is not a complicated system – in fact, it’s about as simple as it gets. Hey, I want you spending your time PLAYING, not getting frustrated with some impossible-to-learn swing.

So what the Perfect Connection Golf Swing allows you to do is get better RESULTS. Period.

“Just want to say thanks. Bought the digital version on Wednesday, practiced Thursday, and on Friday went out and smashed my previous best score by 8 shots on my local nine hole course. Awesome!”

~ Martin Rigby

“Hey, your golf swing added 20 yards to my driver! It is amazing that just by making these few adjustments you can hit the ball more constantly and longer. Thanks, CJ – your program is amazing.”

~ Eduardo Davis

“I have now had your DVD’s for a few months. My whole game has improved, especially my chipping! I’m 74 years old, so it’s never too late!”

~ Mike Harris - Black Forest, Germany

CJ Geocks

The entire Perfect Connection Golf Swing program consists of 26 super-short, easy-to-follow lessons … including the various drills I give you.

Look, I’m not into all this “conspiracy” garbage, like “Revealed at last – the one secret NO ONE wants you to know about your wrists.” I’m pretty sure more people would TELL you these things … if only they KNEW!

And I’m not going to “blow smoke” with threats of “I may pull these videos at any time…”

Heck, I want EVERYONE playing better golf for a lifetime – that’s why I’ve spent so many years of my life dedicated to helping other golfers! But…

I DO however want to encourage you to make the shift to a better game as soon as possible. So I have a special gift for anyone who does. (And I’ll tell you about it in just a moment … along with an absolutely crazy opportunity to get my new “How To Chip Your Way To Lower Scores” and “Improving Your Touch On Soft, Delicate Shots” mini-clinic training programs at “better-than-free” savings!)

Let’s cut through the usual hype
and just be totally honest here…

Look, my goal is to help golfers of all skill levels – even those who couldn’t break 100 if their lives depended on it – add yards to their drives, shave strokes off your score, and ensure you now have a repeatable body-friendly swing you can use for life!

But the truth is, I can’t honestly or accurately predict the exact results you can expect … because I don’t know how you’re golfing right now. In other words, without knowing where you ARE, I can’t say where you’ll GET, or when you’ll get there.

If your game is already powerful … with the kind of accuracy, distance, and consistency that would make most golfers drool with envy … then your gains are likely to be smaller and more slowly coming.

But, since most amateur games of golf (as much as 90% in fact) are utterly riddled with such inconsistencies and errors as poor grips, chicken-winging, and reverse tilting … bad habits that can cause those frustrating topped balls, slices, fat shots, inaccuracy, and inconsistency…

And because these are among the very things the PerfectConnection Golf Swing addresses…

The average golfer can realistically expect rapid and noticeable improvements in these areas. (Again, as I said before … with some effort and dedication on your part.)

“I must say your PCGS is a very good system. I can now go to the range and hit balls for an hour or two without any pains afterwards. The video on reverse tilt really helped me to alleviate my back pain. Thanks!”

~ Doug

“Ha ha… CJ, you are just amazing! I am at the range right now, hitting my 7 iron. My first 12 balls went 150 yards, nice and easy up in the air. I remain much impressed with your coaching. Thanks a lot!”

~ Roberto Giannini

“Played second time using the basics from the PerfectConnection Golf Swing. Shot a 47 and a 44, which for me is great. My slice with the driver is almost gone! I am very pleased.”

~ Gary

“C.J, this Signature Series is the best gift I’ve ever bought myself! In only 7 games my handicap was cut by 4 strokes. You have given me a new enthusiasm for the game, thanks!”

~ Bernard Saffy - South Africa

“Hi, stumbled upon your website about a week ago. I watched your bunker shot advice, and used it the very next day. I played right out of the three bunkers I found that afternoon perfectly with no practice! Very easy advice to follow. Thank You!”

~ Joe Yeager

“Improving Your Touch On Soft, Delicate Shots”…

Golfing is now fun rather than frustrating and disappointing

“Thank you, thank you, THANK you! Early this year breaking 90 was a big goal. After hooking up with you and your lessons, tips and weekly help the last 10 rounds have been in the 70s. Golfing is now fun rather than frustrating and disappointing. Don’t know how to thank you enough for all you’re doing for us hackers. Keep up the great work!”

~ Glen Durall

“CJ, thanks to you my game has improved this year from a 105 to 80-90 and I can truly say I am looking forward to breaking 80. I forgot to mention that I am 71 years old!”

~ Fred Minor - New Jersey

“I’m a Doctor of Sports Science and a 5 handicapper. I’m really impressed with the clarity of your presentation, and your common sense approach to demystifying/debunking some of the great golfing myths/frustrations. Many thanks for creating a very practical and comprehensive program for better golf.”

~ Niall Lynch - Ireland

“Many thanks for your great Perfect Connection Golf Swing program. I’m 71 years old and have always had a problem with consistency but your program has helped me tremendously. I’m enjoying the game again and playing pain free. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”

~ Bob Lucas

“The way I was swinging my club for so many years was really hurting my back. In fact, it got so bad my golf partners had to help me get my ball out of the hole each time. Seriously! I could only play one round, then I’d have to take a week off golf because of the pain. Now, this year, I have ZERO PAIN. And I’ve finally broken 80 for the first time ever, and lowered my handicap, thanks to CJ.”

~ Harty Tadlcok

I am driving it as far as I did in my 30′s & 40′s

“I was actually thinking about quitting as I seemed to be going backwards in my game the last 2 years. I am 61 years old and thought my game was only going to continue getting worse. I am so glad that I decided to give it one last try by purchasing your package this summer – and what a difference it has made to my game and my all around enjoyment playing again.

I am driving it as far as I did in my 30′s & 40′s, my iron game is better than it ever has been, and even my putting is better! Your Instructional Program is laid out very well and makes practice enjoyable. I am able to pick small areas of the game to work on at my own pace, which works better for me than crowding the whole game into a few local lessons. I enjoy your weekly mini clinics with tips on different aspects of the game and find them great refreshers and reminders. Thank you for renewing my interest and enthusiasm for this great game.”

And what should i do to improve my grib and my swing i love to play golf please give some tips tq

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Manjit Sandhu,
Thanks Manjit for the question. Are you able to hold the club with your injury? I am a bit confused as to what your capabilities are. A baseball grip is fine if that’s what your capable of. Let me know and I will try to help you.
      Keep em Long and Straight,
      CJ

  2. William Hamilton says:

Greetings CJ I am a 76 year old that has been trying to play this game since I was 11, my major problem is inconsistancy can hit the good shot and then miss completely the next couple of time, either topping or digging under the ball. Where do I look for the problem in my swing, love the long streight shots but thoroughly frustrated at the graceless misses

    • CJ Goecks says:

      William Hamilton,
Thanks William for the question. To fix this problem you need to do the L to L drill and focus on the straight arms at the finish. Let me know if you know this drill.
      Keep em Long and Straight,
      CJ

  3. Priscilla says:

Have watched Driver video but finding driver swing difficult
Then read where the hinge is delayed with Driver more than Irons. Any
suggestions to correct this problem of off balance and no ball height with driver
Did. Alternate hitting Hybrids and irons this was ok
Would I be better to practice with these? Also same with the 3 wood as with Driver.

    Thanks

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Priscilla,
Thanks for the question. I definitely want you working on your swing with the irons and then finding a simple swing key with the driver. You can borrow my swing key that I have used for my driver for the past 4 years and that is simply smooth on the backswing and balance on the follow through. Let me know if this helps.
      Keep em Long and Straight,
      CJ

  4. Al says:

I understood from previous instruction that your swing should have a moment of hesitant at the top prior to beginning the downward swing. I’m not sure I understand how long that should be or why. Is this what you teach and how important is it? I’m watching your video’s and trying to apply what you teach – sems to be working so far. You’re teaching an old dog (72) new tricks so this may take awhile.

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Al,
Thanks for the question Al. there should not be a hesitation at the top of your swing. Now when viewed from face on there may seem like a small hesitation, but in reality while your arms are going back the body starts forward so ultimately the change of direction will be smooth with no hesitation. Hope this answers your question
      Keep em Long and Straight,
      CJ

      • Al says:

I just wanted you to know that I am enjoying your tips tremendously. I think more about what I should be doing and apply your first three quick lessons. I’m almost 73 and have been having problems with pain after golf and my hdcp reaching skyward. I used to be a 16-17 but in the last 3 years jumped to a 20. I couldn’t even break 90 and most of the time was closer to 100. Yesterday I shot an 83 and felt great afterwards. Of course I was elated too. Love your teaching – it works

        • Al says:

I am absolutely amazed at the improvement of my golf game after watching your first 5 video’s and applying your simple but effeetive techniques. My scores haver consistently been 10-12 storkes less – my hdcp is coming down and my appreciating for the game is definitely accelerating. Yesterday I played with three friends that I could never compete with before but I beat all three – one by 10 strokes, one by 7 and the best guy by one stroke. Love your approach to the game.

          • CJ Goecks says:

            Al,
Thanks Al for the kind words and congratulations on your success. Keep up the great work and let me know if you have any questions. I bet you haven’t told them about me as this will be your secret. In the future as you continue to improve you can repay me by telling them about PCGS. Best wishes and keep in touch.
            Keep em Long and Straight,

CJ,I struggled many years with CG then converted to Natural Golf where I improved but still experienced inconsistency. How does your system compare to NG and Todd Graves single plane systems?

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Pat,
Thanks for the question Pat. NG and Todd Graves is basically the same thing. Ultimately they are taking Mo Normans swing and using that as a model. The perfect connection swing is totally different than that. I don’t require special grips and do not want the club in the palm like they want. Also I emphatically state that I want wrist hinge in the swing and this is a huge source of power for you. Also the swing planes are different as well as the fundamentals of the setup posture. There are tons of differences so I hope this answers your question.

    • euan says:

hi CJ im 11 years old ive dropped from 36 to 25 in handicap by combining your tips and my pga pro coaches thanks

      • CJ Goecks says:

        Euan,
Thanks buddy for the blog post. Keep up the good work. At your age it is vital that you develop your short game. Make sure you spend 3 minutes on short game for every 1 minute you spend hitting balls. This is the quickest way for improvement and will actually improve your full swing as well. You will hit the ball longer as you grow, but there is nothing stopping you from having the same short game as many good players.

  6. leno masolini says:

My biggest problem tends to be tempo/rhythm in all phases of the game. Any suggestios that will get me going in the right direction with my problem? Enjoy your videos and suggestions. Thanks!!

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Leno Masolini,
Thanks Leno for the question. I had a lesson yesterday with a guy that said the same thing about his tempo being the problem. Now typically my answer is that if you have a bunch of things wrong with your swing you must rely on timing. The more your swing improves the less you have to rely on timing. Having said that there are a couple of drills or feelings you could work on. Whistle while you swing. If you whistle and try to force the swing or get quick then your whistling will not be the same. As soon as you add force the whistling will become louder. Second, focus on a smooth takeaway…Almost like your holding a full glass of water and you don’t want to spill it. Finally focus on balance. It may be a good idea to hit some balls with your shoes off and make sure you don’t fall all over the place. Let me know if these help.

  7. Nick says:

    Hello CJ,

I am 14 years old and the videos improved my distance and short game a lot and brought me from a handicap of 13 to a handicap of 7. Iwas just wondering if you had any ideas on how to fix the slice i am haveing right now. I am a righty I also use an interlocking grip if that helps.

    Thanks

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Nick,
Thanks Nick for the question and congratulations on your success so far. The key to stopping the slice will be to review the videos and look at your grip. Make sure this is correct and second continue to do the L to L drill or in severe cases the split hands drill. This drill will give you the proper feeling for the right hand crossing over through impact and will cure your slice immediately. Please keep me informed on your progress and let me know how your doing. If you have any further questions I will be glad to help.

  8. Matt says:

Sorry CJ I am actually 12 and the is going extra straight since I read faults and fixes by David Lead better and beat my dad 11 handicap by 1 shot in match play .After reading this book It helped so much but I combined the tips with yours and it added 30 yards onto my distance I scored 106 yesterday In torrential bad conditions in England . I only played two bad shots with my 5 iron which still went a 100 yards my consistently improved and nearly won a bet which could have cost a club member an expensive golf bag. I reccomend for everybody out there that they go and buy faults and fixes by David Lead better and combine it with CJs tips it works guaranteed especially if you don’t want to lose balls hope this helps to everyone out there

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Matt,
Thanks Matt for the kind words and I am glad I was able to help you. David’s faults and fixes book is very good and covers so many different fixes that it is a great buy for any golfer. Keep up the good work and remember to work on your short game more than your full swing.

    • Gavin Ciulla says:

Hey CJ, my name is Gavin. I live in canada and play quite a bit of golf. I am 14 years old and right now in winter a 10 handicap. Over the summer I had a wonderful swing in which I lost from people playing with me trying to give me tips. I was still a consistent golfer with my handicap being 13 at highest. But there were plenty of times where I thought of hanging up the clubs for good because I was frustrated with changing my swing every few rounds until now. I have been taking your lessons to heart and I am seeing a major change in how my swing is. I can usually hit my driver about 235 in winter, but I have been able to pick up a few yards and bump it up to 255. My swing is becoming more consistent and I can have confidence on shots I never thought I would. Just wanted to say thanks for saving my golf career from one golfer to the next.

      • CJ Goecks says:

        Gavin Ciulla,
Thanks Gavin for the kind words and I am glad you are really improving. I can’t believe your still playing golf in Canada right now. Remember that the better you get the more people will want to help you and give you advice. You need to be cordial and acknowledge their willingness to help, but really keep closed ears. Find someone you trust and only listen to them. I had a friend in High School that won the city championship at 14. He beat all the old guys including the college players at UTEP. he was a great player, won the Rolex Junior AJGA Championship, but had every pro in the city giving him swing advice because they all wanted to help and be credited for this great player. Needless to say by the time he was 18 he struggled to break 80. It was a shame to see but hopefully you will learn from his mistake. Let me know if you have any questions but remember to be selective in who you listen to.

  9. Matt says:

HI CJ I am 11 years old a 36 handicapper and have had some rounds in the 90′s the only thing is I lack consistency for instance on some days I hit my driver 180 yards and on some days but in a week I might only hit the ball 130 yards why is this and why Is it you I should ask

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Matt,
Thanks Matt for the question. Please give me a bit more information about what is happening with the ball other than loss of distance on some days. Are you slicing it, heeling it, toeing the shot etc? the more information you give me the better my advice will be versus blind guessing. Talk to you soon buddy and don’t give up hope. We will get you focused. Also your 11 years old. Remember that short game wins tournaments and you should be practicing your short game for 3 minutes for every 1 minute you spend hitting balls. this is the key to becoming a great player.

  10. Mike says:

Hi CJ, need your advice. Bought the digital series, still going through it. I had the Taylormade TP Irons and liked them a lot but picked up a shank shot (not clubs fault, I was too close). My local pro advised me to dump those and get the Taylormade Burner 2.0′s, did but can’t break 88 with them. Before I sold the TP’s I had shot a score of 83. Shank is gone too. So, should I go back to a Taylormade Blade Iron or stick with the Burner 2.0′s? I miss my TP’s along with the control and attacking a low 80′s score, not trying to just break 90 as I do now with my 2.0′s :-/ (index was 8-10 with TP’s, now 15-16 with 2.0′s)

  11. David Getsy says:

Really need help with my driver..Seems like I turn my right wrist under during my swing sending my ball to the right. Can you help, and do you have a good cure for it. Thanks Dave

    • CJ Goecks says:

      David Getsy,
Thanks David for the question. A great feeling for your hands through impact would be the split hands drill. Take your normal grip and then slide your right hand down a few inches with a gap between both hands. Make a few practice swings and get the feeling of the right hand crossing over the left. this will cure your slice. I would also recommend a training aid called the swingyde which will give you immediate feedback and will help you get the proper wrist hinge you need. Let me know if this helps.

CJ, I’m so left handed that I can’t pick my nose with my right hand. Can you give me some visuals for a lefty that every one seems to forget about. I have had to adjust all my life and as I get older its harder for me with my old bones and aches. Thanks

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Edward Michael,
Thanks Edward for the blog post and I understand your issue with being left handed. I have created a left handed version of the signature series. please don’t make fun of my left handed swing, but please contact Damon at Damon@perfectconnectiongolfswing.com and he can get you the left handed version for your viewing. Hi CJ Ball striking is my problem…..topping it or digging up the ground. That two inches at the end of the club. Can you learn this or are you just born with it?

    Thanks!
    Nick

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Nick,
Thanks Nick for the question and no you are not born with golf naturally. It takes time, but you are too steep on the downswing and this causes the chicken wing which causes the top. You need to work on the L to L drill and get the club a bit flatter at halfway back and this will help you.

  14. mike flemming says:

hi, I really like the concepts you teach and they make alot of sense to me. My question is on the downswing. do you teach that the hips should start the weight transfer to the left side or how should i think about that with your program? Thanks Mike

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Mike flemming,
Thanks Mike for the question and yes the weight transfer is done with the hips. Great question and let me know if you have any other questions.

    CJ

I have a very small backswing, probably at most 1/4. Have been told looks like a slapshot from hockey player. Will these videos take that into consideration??

    Larry H

    • CJ Goecks says:

      larry H,
Thanks Larry for the question and I know I can help you. When watching the DVD’s pay close attention to my left knee on how it turns behind the ball on the backswing and this will make sure your swing finishes the backswing. I think what is going on is your body is moving in two directions at once, which is good, although I think you may be overdoing it a bit. Hope this helps and let me know your thoughts on the DVD’s.

    CJ:
I am confused. Not too long ago I purchased the Power Triangle Method by Bobby Wilson. I have been watching your short videos for a while now. Can you please tell me what is the diffeence between your methd and Bobby Wilson’s.
I would appreciate an honest answer.

    Thanks

    Michael

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Michael,
Thanks Michael for the question. Please tell me what you are confused about and I can clear it up. The main question I receive about the PCGS vs The power triangle is the wrist hinge. Bobby wants you to create a wide swing, while I want the wrist to hinge and create the L at halfway back. there isn’t really that big of a difference due to the length of the club. when swinging a driver with the PCGS swing, because of the length of the driver, the wrist will not be able to hinge and form the L exactly at halfway back. It will take a tiny bit longer. I agree with creating width in the swing with the driver, but width with irons is not the best. Remember you can take anything and go to far with it in either direction. Bobby’s video is a good match for the PCGS but yes the L will be created a bit further back in your swing, but that is only due to the length of your driver. Hope this clears up any confusion. Let me know.

Can you comment on the differences between your swing and that of the Moe Norman, Natural Golf, Graves Golf School approach?

  18. Peter Konings says:

    Hello CJ,

I’m 73 years old and play about 15 years golf.
    The PCGS is very efficient.
I play now with a lot more of constancy.

for Mr. Berry who says he can’t watch the video as the second half spools endlessly: he needs to not click to start watching the video until a lot of it has be downloaded/this is evident from a graying of the long bar at the bottom of the video:)

  22. Jim Gift says:

    CJ,

Very bad swing coming too much from inside. Surgery on lower back last year, still having lower back problems. Have to change or give up the game. Multiple instructors have not helped.

Your 3/4 swing and vertical takeaway swing is remarkably similar to the swing that DJ Trahan’s father is promoting. What is different in your swing?

Also, if I purchase the special price DVDs at $57, how much is the S&H?

Finally, is the warranty still 365 days?

    thanks, Jim

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Jim Gift,
Thanks Jim for the question. I know I can help you but you have to give me the opportunity. My swing although the term 3/4 swing is nothing like trahan’s swing. Trahan wants the club vertical. I want the club to swing on the shoulder plane. Our setup is different, our grip is different. Trahan promotes no wrist hinge while I strongly emphasize wrist hinge in the backswing. Our downswings are different. I promote a downward strike with the irons, while trahan promotes an upward strike. This is just the start of the differences. I hope this answers a few of your questions.

    hi there

i like the look of your theory i suffer from a bad back i`m 35yrs old play of 3 handicap but i`m unable to drop lower, maybe cause of my back or just inconsistancy. interested in buying the DVD`s but i am a left handed golfer. my dream is to turn pro but so far this has not happened. do you think your product could help. please let me know.

    thank yopu Jason

  24. jerry troxell says:

Due to multiple surgeries on my right leg I have very little strength
to roll up on my toe on my follow through. Is there any adjustment I can make to compensate for this weakness.

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Jerry Troxell,
Thanks Jerry for the question. To finish on your toe is not a necessary issue as long as you do have weight transfer to your right side. At impact my right foot is still on the ground and by the time the foot finishes on my toe the ball is long gone. Does this make sense? Let me know what your struggling with and we can fix it.

  25. Lou Cherniss says:

    Hi CJ -

I’m having some issues with age related arthritis, namely in my hands and wrists. When I take the club back my left wrist has a lot of pain and I’m feeling like I’m losing some strength and power because of it. Do you have anys ideas that might help me avoid stressing both my wrists and fingers?

Thanks very much and keep up the good work. I look forward to your ideas and tips we get on the internet.

    Lou

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Lou Cherniss,
Thanks Lou for the question. In regards to arthritis I would look to your diet first. Phil Mickelson had to change his diet when he was diagnosed with arthritis, but I am not sure of your situation. Also going to a larger and sometimes softer grip will help with this situation. Graphite shafts will also help to dampen the vibration on iron shots and this may help. They do have steel shafts that will dampen the vibration, but just talk to your clubfitter and he can help you out with the proper shaft for you. Did I answer your question? Please let me know.

  26. Alan Dowley says:

Is this not the same as the Trahan videos which say they have the best and only way to swing a club.
Or do you consider your videos to be more correct when swinging a club?

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Alan Dowley,
Thanks Alan for the question. My videos and swing are not even close to Trahan’s approach to swinging the club. Namely our setup is different, Our grip is different. Mine is personalized to your body. Our backswing is different. Trahan wants no wrist hinge, while I emphatically state I want wrist hinge. Trahan wants you to lift the club to the top and promotes a 3/4 swing, while I want some turn in your swing and promote a 3/4 width (totally different). Our downswings are different. Trahan wants you to hit up on the ball while I want you to hit down on the ball. Even our follow throughs are different. There are more differences than similarities in the swings. I hope this answers your question and welcome any other questions about this. Talk to you soon.

    Hi CJ,
My question is this , why on your driver video does it look as if you are going way past the 3/4 swing, almost like a 80%, John Daily back swing?

    • CJ Goecks says:

      Norman Reyes,
I am not sure what you are referring to Norman. My swing is not 80% like Daly’s nor do I teach a 3/4 length swing. I teach a 3/4 width swing. Please let me know if you understand this and if you have any further questions.

Played in Dublin, Ireland yesterday (Wednesday). Very windy conditions.
Played just nine holes and was very pleased with swing suggestions. I do believe you have touched on something vital in terms of going easier on our bodies wihtout losing distance.
My accuracy was better than it ever was.

        Hi CJ.
I am a bit long in the tooth (79)for anything fancy
but after playing in the low single figers for a lot of years I am now on 23 h\c and heading out quickly
I like the look of your swing as almost all my trouble
is aches and pains. However I can’t grasp what you mean
by 3/4 width as opposed to 3/4 length. Glen

        • CJ Goecks says:

          Glen Evans,
Thanks Glen for the question. I am referring to the arms being away from your head not necessarily the length of the swing. Does this make sense? Let me know.
