Chipping – The Set-Up
Hey Rebels,
Have a chipping lesson for you today.
I recently had a student that was struggling to set-up properly prior to chipping the ball.
And as I looked around TPC that day after our lesson, I realized he isn’t alone. I saw so many players out there pushing their bodies into awkward positions.
So check out this quick drill, I think it may help many of you.
Interested in coming to our golf school next month in Kohler, Wisconsin?
You can check out the details in this link:

I’d love to meet you in person!

It’s fantastic that you are getting ideas from this paragraph as well as from our discussion made at this time.
Good day! This is my first comment here so I just wanted to give a quick shout out and say I really enjoy reading
through your articles. Can you recommend any other blogs/websites/forums that go
over the same subjects? Thanks!
kredyt,
Thanks for the kind words and I am glad you enjoy the blog. Hopefully this is the only blog you need my friend. I am not sure what others you might be interested in, but typically just search the area you are interested in. There are not many companies that do a blog like I do so I am not sure where to send you.

Hey C.J., I just started following you on Twitter, but saw you haven’t updated since September. Get back in the water, man!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for what you’re doing here. I’ve never paid for golf instruction before, and this time I did, and it has REALLY made an improvement!
Especially your advice on chipping and pitching. According to Golf Digest’s Make Me Better stats, I improved my “Short Game Handicap” from 40 to 20! My last round I didn’t make any GIR’s, but only had one chip/pitch per hole. From the 15 foot chips to the 30-yard pitches, I got the ball within 10 feet of the hole every time!
As for my drives, before every tee shot I do the “L to L” drill to get my arms connected properly, and I usually make good contact. My slice is virtually eliminated thanks to the principle of keeping things connected! Now I still hit some things left, and I think that’s all alignment, and just getting my eyes used to seeing the correct target line. I’m going to start laying a club down and align my feet to the line that way.
I appreciate all you do for golfers, C.J. Now if we could just get Tiger Woods to take you on as his swing coach….
Indiana Jim,
Thanks Jim for your comments. It makes me feel great to hear that you have really improved. I will look into the Twitter again. I would do it if people would listen. Let me know how I can help you. Keep up the great work.

Hi CJ
Thanks for all your tips and hard work in showing us “Weekend Warriors” how to improve our game. I am the director of a golf tour company in Cape Town, South Africa called Around the Green Golf Holidays. We specialise in Cape Town and the beautiful Garden Route of the Western Cape Province.
I’m not sure what your travelling schedule is like, but have you ever considered coming to South Africa to give a golf school. We have a shortage of this type of instruction for the general golfing public, and I think your DVD sales will go through the roof! If you like you could even bring some of your students out here to chat to some of the locals and show what the PCGS has done for their game. We could even arrange a mini tournament (maybe Ryder Cup style) with some of the local golf coaches/pro’s here.
I truly feel the international golfing community needs to be more connected, and in so doing, expose ourselves to other countries, courses and cultures. That way we build an appreciation for the amount of effort us golfers go through in order to enjoy the game we all love so much. Let me know what you think.
I look forward to chatting with you in this regard. Keep up the good work!
Chris
Chris Abrahamse,
Thanks Chris for the kind words. I would love to come to South Africa and do some teaching. I just did a quick video tip with Brenden Pappas so I am definitely favorable to the South Africans. I had a roommate in College on my golf team from South Africa. He brought a book from there and I was blown away at the beauty in your country. If I can ask a favor I would love for you to email Damon@perfectconnectiongolfswing.com and try to arrange something with him. If you can help us get together some students I am there. If we can cover our expenses and make a bit of profit for my time I would love to donate some to your junior golf program or something that you suggest. I would look at staying for about a week at least so I can teach and play some of the great courses in your area. I am really interested in seeing other areas of the world and would love your help in putting together a golf school.

Best of luck with your root canal problems.Love reading your golfing tips and and then trying them out. I am sure that your teaching methods are good
because you take into consideration the pupils age and fitness.
Hope to see you on the tour soon. Best wishes from Harry in Bradford Yorkshire.
harry Poole,
Thanks harry for your comments. I hope I have been able to help you with the videos. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will do my best. Talk to you soon.

I am a dentist and have done root canals for fifty years. Usually there is no pain involved. A back ache is 10 times worse. Larry Loughead
Larry Loughead,
thanks Larry. had the procedure today. little bit of pain in upper left area (chewing). Have to get a crown on there this next week when I have time to go in. Is this normal?

C.J.,
I have had two root canals, but not at the same time. Have the doctor freeze your jaw and you will not feel anything. I didn’t even have much pain after my jaw became normal again. Mostly it is the thought of what is taking place. I hate dentist also and my dentist is a friend from our church.
