Old Man Winter Chipping Drill

A swing is not a swing without follow-through. And today, I’m going to show you a simple way to groove an easily repeatable chipping motion while you’re trapped inside the house. We will work on your wrist and body motion.

Plus, I’ll reveal the biggest chipping “no-no” that I see from amateurs, and how to quickly eliminate this from your short game (Hint: keep those 2 clubs handy from the last video).

Ultimate Golf Experience
in Palm Springs, CA

Bobby Wilson and I are heading out to Palm Springs, CA for another LIVE Perfect Power Golf School. We have FIVE dates currently in the works at the Desert Dunes Golf Club and sure to be an amazing golf experience.

Besides having some fun in the sun, we will only be focusing on one thing… teaching you how to smash the ball off the tee with laser precision… and marry it with an incredibly super sweet short game.

    Hi -
After all this time of watching your lessons, I no longer get sound from your latest ones. Can’t figure out how to fix this since yours are the only ones I’m having trouble with.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanx & Happy Holidays!!

Hi,Lew,i had the same problem. The Perfect Connection team informed me that if you are using Internet Explorer it will not work anymore.
I switched to Firefox or Google Chrome, and these both work perfectly.
      Hope this helps.
      Regards from UK,

Great chipping lesson , being in Buffalo NY in the winter there is no real place to practice other than a dome. My question is how can the two club theory help with my long irons or how would you practice the long irons with two clubs also could you use it out of the sand

I am constantly tweaking my swing do to listening to videos every day, should I just concentrate on any one thing?

    Hi CJ,
Great drill.I usually don’t have any problems with chipping and pitching.I’m getting older now and the memory isn’t what it use to be.This will be great drill in the winter. Now if I could show my 72 year old friend this drill. He tends to stop and flip his wrists. But as you know you can’t teach old dogs new tricks especially a hard headed one like him. Thanks again CJ for the great and simple tips.

      Gary Goetz,
Thanks Gary for the blog post. I’m glad you liked the pitching and chipping drill. In regards to your friend just tell him that it’s ok with you if he doesn’t get better. Just more money for you to take off him my friend. Reverse psychology works best in this instance. Best wishes and keep in touch.

      Keep em Long and Straight,
      CJ

  5. I am scoring 15 strokes better and the chipping drill will help my short game and loose another 10 per round. Thanks for sharing. Look forward to seeing you in Australia soon.

    I live in Australia.
    Sorry, I don’t understand.
    What is an “Off Season”
Come down for a visit and a round of golf.
    We don’t have them here.

    • CJ Goecks says:

      David Hildebrand,
Thanks David for the question. I live in Texas and although it was 65 today this is still considered the offseason. Heck if you know Texas it might snow tomorrow. I wish I was in Australia right now enjoying the warm weather. Best wishes to you and I hope to head to Australia next year.
      Keep em Long and Straight,
      CJ
