Dear Mr Goecks, I play a very long course and us a 4 fairway wood
16.5 loft to try and get longer shots, but too many of my shots with
this club are only rolling along the grass no lift off. What must I do
to get decent height with this club. I certainly am not going over the
top I know this is fatal so it must be something else that I am doing wrong.
Best Wishes John Newman.
John Newman,
Thanks John for the question. Do you take divots normally? I want you to try to take a few divots with this 4 wood initially so you can strike down on it . I know you should sweep the 4 wood (depending on the lie), but it sounds like your too shallow and thus the club is working up on the ball causing the thin shot. Let me know how this works for you.
Keep em Long and Straight,
CJ
